Help wanted for Get Into Rugby @ Brighton Primary School
Term 1 2025

This term the RUSA Development officer for the Southern area Troy Doughty will be running ‘Get Into Rugby’ sessions at Brighton Primary School. This is a new National program to provide participants with the skills, understanding and confidence to transition to Junior rugby and beyond.

We are looking for some help from Brighton members in running some of these sessions. If you can assist Troy for a day or part day, this would be greatly appreciated by Brighton Rugby Club and RUSA.

Troy particularly needs some helpers on Friday 14 March and Friday 28 March.

This is an exciting opportunity to expose current and potential future Brighton Juniors to rugby and further develop their skills.

If you are able to help, please contact the club at secretary@brightonrugbysa.net.au
or speak to Noel, Andrew or one of the committee at training.

A Working with Children’s Check required. All checks are free for volunteers.

The Club is open!

We have a new caterer for the season, GMS Catering, and last Thursday was our first chance to try out Gavin and Maree’s meals. Everyone enjoyed the new menu, especially the salad bar included with all adult orders!

Please join everyone upstairs after training on Thursdays for a meal, a drink and a chat… no need to remember to take something out for tea!

The club will also be providing hot takeaway meals from the canteen on Tuesday nights after training!

Athletics meet at BRUFC

Brighton Rugby Club was the scene for the SAAL McKinnon Parade Athletic Stable Carnival on Sunday. There were a number junior and senior of sprint events over 70m and 300m, and the running of the Thomas Wright Memorial Mile race.

A successful day of running saw our own Ruben le Roux win the final of the Under 14 race, The Angus Mills, by only 0.016s on adjusted times. Congratulations Ruben!

Junior Sports Vouchers!

Thank you to all the junior players and parents who have registered.
More than 80 junior players are now signed up for this season!

Please remember your Sports Vouchers. This year the SA Government has expanded this to 2 x $100 for each child (up to year 9). Both can be used for rugby if required, which will completely offset the playing fees for most juniors.

The Sports Vouchers can be downloaded at this link, and the completed form must be handed in to the Club Secretary Andrew Cropley to be submitted for reimbursement.
