Round 1 Results

Friday night and Saturday of Round 1 was not the start we hoped for in most grades,
but there were promising signs in both seniors and juniors.

Our reigning premiers in Reserve and Third grade looked good in defending their flags, but Premier grade did not get the result they hoped for after coming back to lead at half time. The Women’s team had their first game together with their new teammates from Barossa, and gained valuable experience under the leadership of Captain Tayce Fry, celebrating her 50th game. And finally our Third Grade Black team sit top of the ladder after a huge win against Elizabeth. They were led by Captain Keith Ramsay, who celebrated his 400th game with the opening try of the day!

In juniors, the Under 18s showed great improvement in their Grand Final re-match, but our junior sides were not able to come away from Tregenza with a win. Great numbers in juniors allowed us to lend players to Old Collegians, and we look forward to round 2 at home against Burnside.

Volunteers needed!

The club needs volunteers to help with jobs on match days, especially home games.

In particular we need volunteers to act as Ground Marshalls. One of these is required at every game, juniors and seniors. The coaches and managers are not able to fill this role as well, and are also busy organising their teams.

If you are able to assist the club by acting as a Ground Marshall, volunteering your time in the canteen, or by helping with any other of many jobs on match days, please see your team’s manager or speak to one of the club committee at training during the week.
