FINALS Week One

Finals are here, and it’s a big weekend ahead down at Onkaparinga for the Brighton teams who have made it to this stage of the season.

On Saturday the Brighton Under 12s play Onkaparinga in the first of the junior semi-finals, at 10.00am. Our U12s have beaten Onkas already this season, so they know what they have to do to win. The winner will go into the Grand Final, to be played on Sunday September 7 up at Barossa.

At the same time as the Under 12s are playing, the Brighton Third Grade have a big matchup with Burnside. Despite finishing top of the ladder, Brighton have not beaten Burnside this season, so they will be keen to win and go directly into the Grand Final in two weeks.

Finally on Saturday, Brighton Reserve Grade take on Old Collegians. The Reserves also finished top of the ladder, and will hope to produce their best as they also try to jump straight into the Grand Final.

On Sunday we have a day of knockout games against Onkas! First up are the Brighton Under 14s, who have had a very strong season to finish second. A win will see them take their place in the big game the following week.

Later in the day on Sunday we have two more huge games against Onkas… the Under 18s and the Premier Grade. Brighton Under 18s will be determined to show what they are capable of by beating Onkas on their home ground and going back to the Grand Final again.

Brighton Premier Grade will not be able to take it easy despite their big win last week. Onkas will be a desperate side at home, with the losing side going straight out of the finals, and the winner hanging on for another week.

Best of luck to all of the Brighton teams playing this weekend, and we hope to see you all there supporting your club!
