Round 10 vs Old Collegians
Past Players Day

This Saturday is Round 10, the start of the second half of the season… and a very big day at Brighton for all grades as we take on Old Collegians.

Our Under 12s won a thriller last week, and now have another game against a side just above them on the ladder. Meanwhile the Under 14s are playing in the first of several top of the ladder games for the day… a win will put Brighton equal top and gain some revenge for their only loss of the season so far.

Brighton Under 16s are also playing the ladder leaders, Woodville at Gleneagles. An exciting draw last week showed their ability, so they will be keen for another result this week. Back at Brighton the Under 18s take on a dominant Old Collegians side, and will also want some revenge for last year’s grand final loss.

In the Seniors, Third Grade Black are in action looking for a win against Elizabeth at the Port, and at Brighton the Third grade Gold side have the first of two tough games, that will hopefully set them up for the run to finals. Our Women take on Onkas at Brighton, and will hope to thrill the big home crowd with some exciting rugby.

Brighton Reserve grade have to concentrate on maintaining their undefeated run against Old Colls who sit second on the ladder, so will not want any slip ups this week. Finally the Premier Grade finally have their chance to deal Old Collegians their first loss for the season, and move up to top spot on the ladder.

This Saturday is also the Brighton past players day, celebrating the anniversaries of premierships in 1975, 1985, 1995 and 2005. Any past players or members are welcome on June 21st to help celebrate and catch up with old mates!

See you all at the club tomorrow for a very big day!

Volunteers needed Ground Marshalls, Canteen & Bar

The club needs volunteers to help with jobs on match days, especially home games.
In particular we need volunteers to act as Bar and canteen staff, and Ground Marshalls. One of these is required at every game, juniors and seniors. The coaches and managers are not able to fill this role as well, and are also busy organising their teams.
If you are able to assist the club by acting as a Ground Marshall, volunteering your time in the canteen or bar, or by helping with any other of many jobs on match days, please see your team’s manager or speak to one of the club committee at training during the week.

Please note that all teams will be rostered to help in the canteen for a Saturday Home game during the season. When your team is rostered, please make yourself available for a short shift in the canteen.
